The Harvia The Wall SWS80 Package is the 8kW version of Harvia's most design-forward wall-mounted heater series, complete with the heater and one box of Harvia AC3000 sauna stones. The SWS80 covers sauna rooms from 177 to 431 cubic feet - the largest room range in The Wall built-in-control lineup, and significantly wider than the SWS60's 141-282 cubic foot coverage. It is the right choice for any sauna where The Wall's Scandinavian minimalist design is the aesthetic goal and the room size is in the 300 to 430 cubic foot range that the 6kW SWS60 cannot adequately serve. Everything that defines The Wall series carries through to the SWS80: the polished stainless steel finish, the illuminated top-mounted controls, the left or right-handed installation flexibility, and the option to integrate the heater into the sauna bench structure.
8kW for sauna rooms up to 431 cubic feet
The step from SWS60 to SWS80 is driven entirely by room size. The SWS60 (6kW) covers rooms from 141 to 282 cubic feet - compact to mid-sized 2 to 3-person home saunas. The SWS80 (8kW) extends that to 177 to 431 cubic feet, reaching rooms that seat 4 to 6 people or rooms with significant cold surface additions - tile floors, glass panels, concrete walls - that push the adjusted cubic foot calculation well above the nominal room volume. The 8kW output on a 40A circuit ensures the room reaches temperature reliably throughout that range and holds it without running at continuous full load. For The Wall buyers sizing a larger home sauna room, the SWS80 is the appropriate choice.
Illuminated top-mounted controls - usable in low light
The SWS80 uses the same illuminated control system as all The Wall models. The switches are positioned at the top of the heater unit, remain lit and visible in a dimly lit sauna room, and manage on/off, timer, and temperature. The control module is configurable to either the left or right side at installation - a physical swap rather than a simple rotation, giving meaningful placement flexibility for rooms where the preferred access side is determined by bench layout and sauna traffic flow. The temperature adjustment range of the built-in controls is 121°F to 175°F, the same as the SWS60.
Left or right-handed installation - and optional bench integration
Like the SWS60, the SWS80 installs in either left or right-handed orientation, and it can be integrated directly into the sauna bench structure. Bench integration places the stone mass at bench level rather than on the wall as a separate vertical element, eliminating the heater as a visual interruption in the sauna interior and incorporating it into the bench composition. This requires advance planning during sauna construction. The included Harvia mounting rack is mandatory for all installations - it determines the minimum floor safety distance of 9.8 inches, a required clearance that cannot be achieved by direct wall mounting without the rack.
Superior air circulation, extra-long heating elements
The Wall's internal geometry directs cool air in from below the unit, through the stone mass and extra-long heating elements, and releases it from the top and sides in a pattern that distributes heat more evenly across the room volume. This reduces the heat stratification between floor and bench level that enclosed heater designs often produce. The extra-long heating elements provide more contact surface with the stones, produce smoother heat transfer into the room, and are designed for longer service life than standard-length elements - the element support structure prevents twisting during thermal cycling. The heater's internal components are positioned at the bottom of the unit, protected from the highest-temperature zone of the sauna room.

The largest room coverage in The Wall built-in-control lineup. The SWS60 tops out at 282 cubic feet; the SWS80 extends to 431, covering large 4 to 6-person sauna rooms and rooms where cold surfaces push the adjusted room volume well above the nominal measurement.
Polished stainless finish
The SWS prefix designates the polished stainless steel version of The Wall. Slim, vertical, and reflective in light wood sauna interiors. The SW80 is the identical heater in a black steel finish - both are technically the same in every specification. The SWS80 is the stainless choice.
Illuminated top controls - left or right
Controls sit at the top of the unit and are illuminated for visibility in a dim sauna. The module swaps physically to either side at installation - not just rotated - giving genuine left or right-handed flexibility that suits any room layout where bench placement determines the accessible control side.
Bench integration option
The SWS80 can be installed partially within the sauna bench with the stone mass at bench level. The included mounting rack and fastening kit support this. Bench integration removes the heater as a standalone wall fixture and makes it part of the bench structure, which is the most design-integrated installation option available for a built-in-control electric heater.

Harvia has been making sauna heaters in Finland since 1950. The Wall SWS80 is The Wall series at 8kW - the same polished stainless finish, illuminated top controls, left/right installation flexibility, and bench integration option as the SWS60, but with the output to serve sauna rooms up to 431 cubic feet. The extra-long elements, element support structure, bottom-mounted internal components, and air circulation geometry are unchanged from the smaller model. What changes is the power output, the room coverage, and the electrical requirement. Everything else is the same proven The Wall design.

SWS60 or SWS80?
The Wall SWS60 vs SWS80 - the room size determines the choice
The SWS60 (6kW) covers rooms from 141 to 282 cubic feet and runs on a 30A breaker with 10 AWG wire. The SWS80 (8kW) covers rooms from 177 to 431 cubic feet and requires a 40A breaker and 8 AWG wire. Both are identical in design, finish, controls, safety distances, stone capacity, and installation options. The only meaningful differences are output, room coverage, and electrical requirements. If the sauna room is under 282 cubic feet after cold surface adjustment, the SWS60 is the appropriate choice and the simpler electrical installation. If the room exceeds that, the SWS80 is the only The Wall model that serves it.
A standard 2-pole 40A breaker and 8 AWG wire are required for the SWS80. Do not connect to a GFI or GFCI breaker - nuisance tripping will occur and warranty on internal components will be voided. Only Harvia AC3000 stones (5-10 cm) should be used. The mounting rack included with the heater must always be used - it sets the mandatory 9.8-inch floor safety clearance. Do not mount the heater directly to the wall without the rack.

Warranty
2-year consumer warranty / 1-year commercial warranty
The Harvia The Wall SWS80 is covered by a 2-year limited warranty for consumer (residential) use and a 1-year limited warranty for commercial use from the date of purchase. The warranty covers defects in manufacturing and materials including heating elements, controls, and all internal components. Heating elements are serviceable and replacements are available. The warranty is void if: the heater is connected to a GFI/GFCI breaker (standard 2-pole breaker required), incorrect or insufficient stones are used (must be Harvia AC3000, 5-10 cm), essential oils are poured directly on stones or elements, or the heater is improperly installed without the required mounting rack.
