Keep in mind that the weight of the lift is important to consider if you're planning to install it yourself or need to store it when not in use. If you’re installing it on your vehicle, the additional weight should also be considered in terms of your vehicle's capacity and how it might affect handling.

How To Measure for correct Actuator
It depends on the height of the hitch from the ground. The customer can measure from the ground to the bottom of the hitch while parked on a level surface. Generally, hitches are approximately 16"-17" inches from the ground which is accommodated by our standard actuator size of 18". Anything higher than that, we recommend our 24" actuator to give them the appropriate amount of travel. If they are unsure, they can always purchase the 24" actuator (XT models of our carriers) to ensure they can cover the height needed.
