The Harvia The Wall SW60 Package is the complete, ready-to-install version of The Wall in black steel - the darker, more dramatic counterpart to the polished stainless SWS60. It includes the SW60 heater and one box of Harvia AC3000 sauna stones. In every technical specification - power output, room coverage, dimensions, safety distances, stone capacity, electrical requirements, and installation options - the SW60 and SWS60 are identical. The only difference is the finish: the SW60 has a matte black steel exterior where the SWS60 has a polished stainless surface. The black finish reads differently in a sauna interior. It recedes visually against dark wood, pairs with black hardware and accessories without competing for attention, and gives a sauna room a more contemporary, composed atmosphere than the reflective quality of polished stainless. It is a finish choice, not a performance choice.
Black steel exterior - the aesthetic case for SW over SWS
The polished stainless of the SWS60 is a statement: it catches light, it reflects its surroundings, and it reads as a bright focal element against any wood tone. The black steel of the SW60 does the opposite. It absorbs light rather than reflecting it, blends into sauna interiors with dark panel finishes, black-framed glass doors, and charcoal or ebony-stained wood, and gives the heater a quieter visual presence in rooms where the heater should complement the design rather than dominate it. Black steel also suits modern sauna interiors where matte black hardware, black bench framing, and black stone tile are used throughout - the SW60 becomes part of a coherent material palette rather than a contrasting element. Both finishes are equally durable; the black steel exterior is a permanent finish, not a coating, and is corrosion-resistant in the wet area environment of a sauna room.
Illuminated top-mounted controls - usable in low light
The SW60 uses the same illuminated control system as all The Wall models. Switches are mounted at the top of the unit, remain lit and visible in a dimly lit or candlelit sauna room, and control on/off, timer, and temperature. The control module configures to either the left or right side at installation - a physical swap rather than a simple rotation - giving genuine placement flexibility for rooms where the preferred access side is determined by bench layout and room traffic flow. The temperature adjustment range of the built-in controls is 121°F to 175°F.
Left or right-handed installation - optional bench integration
Like all The Wall models, the SW60 installs in either left or right-handed orientation, and it can be integrated directly into the sauna bench structure. Bench integration places the stone mass at bench level, incorporates the heater into the bench composition rather than presenting it as a standalone wall fixture, and requires planning during sauna construction rather than as an afterthought installation. The included Harvia mounting rack must be used for all installations - it sets the mandatory 9.8-inch minimum floor safety distance that cannot be achieved by direct wall mounting without the rack.
Superior air circulation and extra-long heating elements
The internal geometry of The Wall directs cool air in from below, through the stone mass and extra-long heating elements, and releases it from the top and sides - producing more even temperature distribution from floor to bench level than enclosed heater designs. The extra-long elements provide more contact surface with the stones and smoother heat transfer into the room. A dedicated support structure prevents the elements from twisting during thermal cycling, extending their service life. All internal components are positioned at the base of the heater, in the cooler zone of the sauna room, where they are protected from the high temperatures concentrated at the top of the room.

A standard 2-pole 30A breaker and 10 AWG wire are required. Do not connect to a GFI or GFCI breaker - nuisance tripping will void warranty on internal components. Only Harvia AC3000 stones (5-10 cm) should be used. The mounting rack must always be used - it sets the mandatory 9.8" floor clearance. Do not mount the heater directly to the wall without it.

2-year consumer warranty / 1-year commercial warranty
The Harvia The Wall SW60 is covered by a 2-year limited warranty for consumer (residential) use and a 1-year limited warranty for commercial use from the date of purchase. The warranty covers defects in manufacturing and materials including heating elements, controls, and all internal components. Heating elements are serviceable and replacements are available. The warranty is void if: the heater is connected to a GFI/GFCI breaker (standard 2-pole breaker required), incorrect or insufficient stones are used (must be Harvia AC3000, 5-10 cm), essential oils are poured directly on stones or elements, or the heater is improperly installed without the required mounting rack.
