The ThermaSol Nordic Misty Pergola is the most open and versatile module in the Nordic Misty system - a minimalist outdoor frame built from dark heat-treated spruce posts, beams, and rafters, with a warm heat-treated aspen floor and no walls, no roof panels, and no glazing of any kind. Where the Nordic Misty Terrace provides a sheltered space with a solid roof and a back wall, and the Lounge and Changing Room provide fully enclosed insulated rooms, the Pergola frames an open-air outdoor living zone that lets sunlight filter through the rafters, keeps the breeze flowing freely, and defines a deliberate outdoor space without closing it off. Available in Small (79"L x 52"W) for a single lounger or quiet retreat, and Large (79"L x 79"W) for seating, a plunge tub, or a compact outdoor kitchen, the Pergola connects to any Nordic Misty module via screw connections on its posts and arrives with a pre-assembled base ready for final setup.
The lightest structure in the Nordic Misty system - by design
At 386 lbs for the Small and 463 lbs for the Large, the Pergola is dramatically lighter than every other Nordic Misty module. That is not a compromise - it is a design consequence of the open-rafter structure. There are no panels, no insulation, no glazing, and no interior wall cladding to add weight. What remains is a precisely proportioned frame of dark heat-treated spruce posts and beams, connected with structural hardware, sitting on a heat-treated aspen floor that provides a warm, barefoot-friendly surface regardless of what the ground underneath is made of. The pre-assembled base - posts, beams, and rafters all joined and ready - means setup is straightforward and requires no specialist tools. Screw connections on the posts allow the Pergola to attach to any Nordic Misty sauna or module on one side, while the other sides remain completely open to the garden.
Dark heat-treated spruce - the Nordic Misty visual language
The Pergola posts, beams, and rafters are all made from dark Nordic heat-treated spruce - the same material that defines the exterior of every Nordic Misty sauna and enclosed module. Heat treatment permanently changes the wood's cellular structure, making it dimensionally stable, moisture-resistant, and UV-resistant without paint or chemicals. The dark tone of the spruce reads as architectural and intentional in any garden setting - not as raw timber or painted wood, but as a material that has been treated and chosen. When placed alongside a Nordic Misty sauna or Terrace, the matching dark spruce colour makes the entire configuration read as a single coherent outdoor installation rather than an assembly of separate products.
Heat-treated aspen floor - barefoot warm, outdoor durable
The Pergola floor is heat-treated aspen - the same material used for sauna benches throughout the Nordic Misty system, chosen here for its particular combination of lightweight character, warmth underfoot, and outdoor durability. Aspen does not resin, does not splinter at normal temperatures, and stays comfortable barefoot on warm summer days when darker woods become uncomfortably hot. The aspen floor gives the Pergola a finished, intentional base that elevates it from a simple garden frame to a defined outdoor living space with a consistent material language running from the sauna interior through to the far end of the complex. Like all heat-treated wood in the Nordic Misty range, the aspen floor requires no periodic treatment or sealing.

Why the Nordic Misty Pergola stands out
Fully open - sky visible between rafters
The Pergola is the most open Nordic Misty module - no walls, no solid roof, no glass. Rafters overhead define the space and provide partial shade without blocking the sky. The open structure keeps air flowing freely and lets natural light in at every hour of the day.
Pre-assembled base - quick setup
Posts, beams, and rafters arrive pre-assembled and ready. Final setup is straightforward without specialist tools or heavy construction work. The Pergola is the simplest Nordic Misty module to position and connect - ideal as a first addition or a last finishing touch to any configuration.
Dark heat-treated spruce - matches the sauna
The same dark Nordic heat-treated spruce used on every Nordic Misty sauna exterior. When placed alongside a sauna or Terrace, the Pergola continues the same visual material language without interruption - one continuous dark spruce composition across the whole complex.
Heat-treated aspen floor
Warm, lightweight, barefoot-friendly aspen floor that stays comfortable in summer heat and resists moisture year-round. The same material as Nordic Misty sauna benches - bringing a consistent natural warmth from the inside of the sauna to the outdoor extension.
Two sizes - one lounger or a plunge setup
Small (52"W) fits a single sun lounger or a quiet corner seat. Large (79"W) opens up considerably - enough for two loungers side by side, a cold plunge tub, a compact outdoor kitchen, or a sofa and side table. Both share the same 79" depth and 86" height.
Connects to any Nordic Misty module
Screw connections on the posts allow the Pergola to attach flush to any Nordic Misty sauna, changing room, lounge, or terrace. It can also stand completely alone. Modules do not need to be ordered together - add the Pergola whenever you are ready to extend the complex.
About ThermaSol
American design and engineering
The outdoor frame that completes the Nordic Misty complex.
ThermaSol has been engineering premium steam and sauna systems since 1958. The Nordic Misty Pergola is the most relaxed and versatile addition to the Nordic Misty system - a minimalist frame that defines outdoor space without enclosing it. Whether placed at the end of a sauna-terrace-lounge configuration or used as a standalone garden feature, it brings the same dark spruce material language and warm aspen floor character to whatever it is part of.

About ThermaSol
The Nordic Misty system - start anywhere, grow over time
ThermaSol designs every Nordic Misty module to work independently from day one and integrate with the rest of the system whenever you are ready. The Pergola can be ordered the same day as a sauna or years later as the finishing element of a complex that has grown incrementally. Screw connections on the posts align with every other Nordic Misty module - the Pergola connects to the sauna, the changing room, the lounge, or the terrace without any modification to the existing setup.
The Pergola arrives via flatbed trailer with its base pre-assembled. ThermaSol notifies customers two weeks before the scheduled delivery date. A forklift or crane is required for off-loading. The placement site must be firm and level. The Pergola is an open-rafter structure - it does not provide weatherproof overhead coverage in rain. For covered outdoor use, the Nordic Misty Terrace (solid roof, back wall, LED lighting) is the appropriate module.

Installation guide
Download the official ThermaSol Nordic Misty Modules Manual below. It covers site preparation, placement requirements, module connection procedures for attaching the Pergola posts to adjacent Nordic Misty modules, foundation requirements, and ongoing maintenance for heat-treated spruce and aspen components. The Pergola is the simplest Nordic Misty module in terms of installation - review the connection section if joining to an adjacent sauna or other module, as the screw connection positions on the posts must align with the receiving module's connection hardware.

Warranty
2-year ThermaSol warranty
The ThermaSol Nordic Misty Pergola is covered by ThermaSol's 2-year limited warranty, covering defects in materials and workmanship under normal residential use for two years from the date of delivery to the original purchaser. ThermaSol will, at its discretion, repair or replace any covered defective component at no cost. The warranty does not cover damage from improper installation, misuse, abnormal weather events, or failure to follow ThermaSol's published installation and site-preparation guidelines. As an open-rafter structure, the Pergola is not designed to provide weatherproof overhead coverage - water ingress from rain through the open rafters is not a warranty claim. Proof of purchase from an authorized dealer is required for all warranty claims. We are an authorized ThermaSol dealer.
