In a barrel this size, the rear window is not a cosmetic upgrade it is structural to the experience. Six people sharing 78.5 inches of bench space is intimate by any measure. The E8W is built on the identical platform as the standard E8 every stave, every band, every drain, every shingle is the same. The 1.65-inch full-length Thermo-Spruce staves are thermally treated under pressurized heat and steam, without any chemical preservatives, to produce wood that is denser, more dimensionally stable, and naturally resistant to moisture and decay than untreated softwoods. It outlasts cedar two to one outdoors and requires no staining, sealing, or repainting over its lifetime. Heavy-duty stainless steel barrel bands 1-7/8 inches wide, 1/8 inch thick compress the full structure and hold it tight through years of heating and cooling cycles. The complete black shingle roof kit with side-mounted drip edges keeps rain out entirely. Two floor drains handle everything inside. The rear window adds light and a view. The rest of the barrel does the rest.
