The Harvia Virta Combi HL80SA is an 8kW combination electric sauna heater and steamer for sauna rooms up to 431 cubic feet. The Virta Combi is Harvia's flagship combi-heater concept: a single unit that combines a conventional electric sauna heater with an integrated 5-liter steam generator, enabling four distinct sauna bathing experiences from one installation - traditional Finnish sauna, steam sauna, herbal sauna, and fragrance sauna. This listing is the heater only. The required Combi-specific control (CX30C or FX30C) and sauna stones (100 lbs, 3 boxes of AC3020) are sold separately and must be purchased to operate the heater.
Four sauna modes from one heater - the Virta Combi concept
A standard electric sauna heater produces dry heat and, when water is ladled over the stones, bursts of steam from the stone mass. The Virta Combi adds an integrated steam generator to this: a 5-liter steamer that produces continuous soft steam independently of the stone ladle, enabling modes that a conventional heater cannot deliver. Traditional sauna mode uses the heater and stones in the conventional way. Steam sauna mode activates the steamer to fill the room with continuous soft steam at lower temperatures, closer to a Turkish bath or hammam experience. Herbal sauna mode introduces herbal essences or infusions through designated compartments in the heater body, distributing the fragrance through the steam throughout the session. Fragrance sauna mode uses liquid fragrance through a separate compartment for aromatic steam. All four modes are selectable from the CX30C or FX30C Combi control panel.
Separated stone space and front hatch - the Virta Combi's physical design
The Virta Combi has a separated stone space - the stones are held in a designated section of the heater body that is isolated from the steamer components. This separation is what allows the stones to be used for conventional loyly ladling (in traditional sauna mode) while the steam generator operates independently for steam and herbal modes. The front hatch provides access to the stone compartment for loading and checking stones without dismounting the heater. This access convenience is important because the Virta Combi requires AC3020 stones (10-15 cm, larger than standard) which must be correctly placed and checked periodically. The hatch also provides access to the fragrance and herbal liquid holders positioned inside the heater body.
CX30C or FX30C Combi control required - not compatible with standard Xenio controls
The Virta Combi HL80SA requires a Combi-specific Xenio control unit: either the CX30C-U1 (single-phase) or the FX30C-U1 (single-phase with FX panel). Standard Xenio CX30 or CX45 controls do not support the steam generator functions and cannot be used with the Virta Combi. The control is sold separately at BathingBrands. The HL80SA operates at 8kW on a 240V/1-phase circuit with a 30A breaker and 10 AWG wire. A licensed electrician is required for all electrical connections.

The holders are accessible through the front hatch.
8kW on a 30A circuit - smallest Virta Combi
The HL80SA is the smallest output in the Virta Combi series - 8kW covering rooms up to 431 cu ft on a standard 240V/1-phase, 30A / 10 AWG circuit. The HL90SA extends to 494 cu ft and the HL110SA to 635 cu ft on dual 30A circuits. For rooms up to 431 cu ft where a single 30A circuit is available, the HL80SA is the entry point to the Virta Combi experience.
Combi-specific control required
The Virta Combi requires the CX30C-U1 or FX30C-U1 Combi control - a dedicated panel with mode selection for all four sauna experiences. Standard Xenio CX30 or CX45 controls do not support the steam generator functions. The Combi control is available separately at BathingBrands and must be purchased to complete the installation.

Warranty
Harvia limited warranty
The Harvia Virta Combi HL80SA is covered by Harvia's limited warranty from the date of purchase. The warranty covers defects in manufacturing and materials under normal use conditions. The warranty does not cover damage caused by improper installation, use of incorrect stone type or size (AC3000 stones must not be used - AC3020 required), use with a non-compatible control (standard CX30/CX45 controls are not compatible), or failure to follow Harvia's installation and operating guidelines. A licensed electrician is required for all electrical connections. Do not connect to a GFI/GFCI breaker. Proof of purchase from an authorized Harvia dealer is required.
