Xenio Digital Control for Combi 3 Phase Sauna Heaters
The Harvia Xenio CX30C-U3 is the 3-phase version of Harvia's Xenio Combi control system, designed specifically for use with Virta Combi sauna heaters on a 208V/3-phase electrical supply. The "Combi" designation is what distinguishes this control from the standard Xenio CX30: where the CX30 controls only the sauna heater, the CX30C controls both the sauna heater and an integrated steam generator independently from a single touch panel. Temperature and humidity are each adjusted separately - the heater controls the dry heat, the steam generator controls the moisture level - allowing any combination from fully dry to high-humidity sessions within a single sauna session.
Combi control - independent regulation of heater and steamer
The defining capability of the CX30C-U3 is that the sauna heater and the steam generator can each be switched on, off, and adjusted independently from the same touch panel. Setting the temperature controls the heater side of the Virta Combi; setting the humidity level controls how much steam the generator produces. Both can run simultaneously at any combination of settings within their respective ranges: temperature adjustable between 104°F and 194°F, humidity between 20% and 95% rH. This independent control is the reason a Combi heater requires a Combi controller - a standard Xenio CX30 or CX30-U3 cannot access the steam generator functions of a Virta Combi heater at all.
Compatibility - 3-phase 208V only, Virta Combi series only
The CX30C-U3 is built for 208V / 3-phase electrical supplies and is compatible with Harvia Virta Combi sauna heaters up to 10.8 kW on that supply. It is not compatible with single-phase heaters (the CX30C-U1 is the single-phase equivalent), and it is not compatible with non-Combi Harvia heaters such as the Cilindro, Spirit, or standard Virta (without steam generator). Selecting the correct Xenio variant for the heater and electrical supply is essential - an incorrect pairing will result in the heater not functioning correctly or the steam functions not being accessible. If the Virta Combi heater is on a 240V/1-phase supply, the CX30C-U1 is the correct choice.
Touch panel installation - sauna, bathroom, dressing room, or living room
The Xenio touch control panel is compact and slim - 3.4" wide, 4.4" tall, and only 1" deep - and can be installed in a wide range of locations: inside the sauna room, in the adjacent shower room or dressing room, or even in the living room or elsewhere in the home. This flexibility is one of the Xenio's most practical features: it means the sauna can be preheated and its status checked from wherever the panel is located without returning to the sauna room. The panel can be wall-mounted or surface-embedded. The power unit, however, must be installed in a dry area outside the sauna room - it is rated for interior dry conditions only (ambient temperature 13°F to 103°F) and must not be embedded into the wall. The panel connects to the power unit via the included data cable.
WiFi upgrade available - MyHarvia app compatible
The CX30C-U3 does not include WiFi as standard but is compatible with the Harvia Xenio WiFi remote kit (sold separately), which replaces the standard touch panel with a WiFi-enabled panel. With the WiFi kit installed, the sauna can be controlled remotely via the MyHarvia app on iOS or Android from anywhere - preheating before arriving home, adjusting temperature and humidity mid-session from a phone, or scheduling sessions in advance. The MyHarvia app also integrates with Google Home and Amazon Alexa for voice-activated control.
