The Cozy Heat Sauna Stove Package is a complete wood-burning sauna stove package available in 12kW (210-423 cu ft) and 18kW (317-635 cu ft), including the stove and sauna stones with your choice of stone style. Cozy Heat is an Estonian brand that has taken the ancient craft of wood-burning sauna stoves to a new level of efficiency and environmental performance. Wood-fired sauna stoves produce a qualitatively different heat from electric heaters - the combustion cycle creates an atmosphere that many sauna bathers find softer, more enveloping, and more satisfying than electrically heated air - and the Cozy Heat stove is engineered to deliver that experience with 25-40% less firewood than comparable stoves, earning Germany's highest certification standard for wood-burning stove emissions. No electrical connection is required. A chimney installation is required - sold separately.
Why wood-fired heat is different from electric heat
An electric sauna heater warms the room by heating elements and stones to temperature and maintaining them there indefinitely at the press of a button. A wood-fired sauna stove builds heat progressively over a 1 to 2-hour firing cycle, creating a live fire inside the stove body that radiates heat through the firebox walls, heats the stone mass above, and produces a naturally convecting warm air movement that is distinct from the forced or passive convection of electric heaters. The sauna session begins when the fire is lit and the room temperature rises through the firing cycle - bathers who prefer the ritual of wood-fired sauna, the smell of burning wood in the sauna room, and the visual warmth of the fire visible through the glass door are choosing an experience that no electric heater can replicate. The Cozy Heat stove's three-stage combustion system - primary air through the grate, secondary air to the mid-chamber, tertiary air through ceiling pipes - burns the flue gases themselves as a third combustion stage, producing less smoke and more heat from each load of wood.
12kW or 18kW - room size determines the choice
The 12kW Cozy Heat covers rooms from 210 to 423 cubic feet and requires a minimum stone load of 265 lbs. The 18kW model covers rooms from 317 to 635 cubic feet and requires a minimum stone load of 353 lbs. The two output ranges overlap between 317 and 423 cubic feet. For rooms in this overlap zone, Sauna Supply Company recommends choosing the 12kW for faster heat-up times and lower wood consumption in standard wood-walled rooms, and the 18kW for rooms with significant cold surfaces - glass doors, tile floors, concrete or masonry walls - that absorb heat and require more output to compensate. A chimney of the correct diameter and height is required for both models and must be planned and installed before the stove can be used.
5mm stainless steel flame cutter - the critical durability specification
The most thermally stressed component of any wood-burning sauna stove is the flame cutter - the internal baffle that direct flame from the firebox strikes as combustion gases rise toward the flue. In lower-quality stoves, this component is made from thin steel that warps, cracks, and eventually fails under sustained heat cycling. In the Cozy Heat, the flame cutter is fabricated from 5mm stainless steel - substantially heavier than the industry norm - giving it the thermal mass and corrosion resistance to withstand years of firing cycles without distortion. The stove body itself is steel construction. The floor-standing design requires no wall mounting; the stove sits on the sauna floor and connects to the chimney via a top flue outlet.

Why the Cozy Heat Package stands out
Wood-fired heat - the traditional sauna experience
Wood-fired sauna stoves produce a qualitatively different heat from electric heaters - softer, more enveloping, built progressively over the firing cycle. The ritual of lighting the fire, the smell of burning wood, and the live fire visible through the glass door are part of the sauna experience that no electric heater provides. The correct choice for buyers who want authentic traditional sauna bathing.
Three-stage combustion - 25-40% less firewood
Primary, secondary, and tertiary air injection burns flue gases as a third combustion stage, extracting more heat from each log and producing cleaner emissions. 73.9% efficiency at 12kW and 81.3% at 18kW. Up to 6x cleaner smoke gases than basic stoves. Certified to Germany's highest emission standard EN 15821:2010.
5mm stainless flame cutter - built to last
The most thermally stressed component is fabricated from 5mm stainless steel - the industry's most durable construction for this part. Thinner flame cutters warp and fail over years of firing; the Cozy Heat's 5mm specification extends the life of the stove significantly over lower-cost alternatives.
Glass door - fire viewing, heat monitoring
The glass door lets bathers watch the fire without opening the firebox - keeping heat in the sauna room and allowing fire monitoring throughout the session. It also provides the visual warmth and ambiance of a live fire that is a central part of the traditional wood-fired sauna experience.
265 to 353 lbs of stones - real thermal mass
12kW minimum 265 lbs, 18kW minimum 353 lbs. The large stone mass stores substantial thermal energy from the firing cycle, continues radiating heat after the fire dies down, and produces soft, sustained steam from the first ladle of water. This thermal capacity is a defining characteristic of wood-fired sauna that small stone loads cannot replicate.
No electrical required - chimney only
The Cozy Heat stove requires no electrical connection. The only infrastructure requirement is a properly installed chimney of the correct diameter and height. For sauna buildings without electrical supply or where running a 240V circuit is impractical, a wood-burning stove is the appropriate and practical heating choice.
About Cozy Heat
Handmade in Estonia - German certified
Cozy Heat. Estonian wood-burning sauna stoves engineered for the bathers who want the real thing.
Cozy Heat is an Estonian sauna stove manufacturer. Estonia is a country where wood-fired sauna bathing is embedded in national culture - not a luxury product for those who can afford it, but a regular part of daily and weekly life for ordinary households. The Cozy Heat stove is made in this context: it is built to the functional standards of a working sauna country, not to the marketing standards of an imported premium product. The 5mm stainless flame cutter, the three-stage combustion, and the German environmental certification are engineering decisions rather than marketing distinctions. The stove is available in 12kW and 18kW configurations and comes complete with sauna stones and a choice of stone style.

Choosing between 12kW and 18kW
12kW vs 18kW - and when to choose each
Both models cover a range of rooms and overlap between 317 and 423 cubic feet. The 12kW covers 210-423 cu ft with a minimum 265-lb stone load, heats up faster, and consumes less wood per session. The 18kW covers 317-635 cu ft with a minimum 353-lb stone load, takes longer to reach temperature, and is appropriate for rooms with significant cold surfaces - glass, tile, or concrete - that absorb heat and reduce effective room temperature. For a standard 300-350 cu ft wood-walled sauna room, the 12kW is the practical choice. For the same room with a glass wall or tile floor, the 18kW provides the headroom to compensate. When in doubt: calculate cubic footage and add 1.2 cu ft for every square foot of non-insulated cold surface, then select the model whose range covers the result.
A chimney and flue pipe must be installed by a qualified professional before the stove can be used. Use only dry, seasoned hardwood. Do not overfire. Sweep the chimney regularly. Natural sauna stones are unique in shape - purchasing an extra box of stones allows selection of the best-fitting pieces for the stone cavity.
