The HUUM UKU Frame is a surface mounting frame for the UKU Glass, UKU Mirror, and UKU Gold sauna control panels. The UKU glass-panel controls (Mirror and Gold variants) install by default as flush/recessed mounts - the panel sits in a cut-out in the wall surface, level with the surrounding material. The UKU Frame is the optional accessory that enables surface mounting instead: the frame attaches to the wall surface and the UKU panel mounts into the frame, presenting the panel above the wall plane rather than recessed into it. For sauna rooms where cutting a recess into the wall is not practical - due to wall construction, tile work, or design preference - the UKU Frame provides a clean, finished surface-mount installation path. It is compatible with the UKU Glass (Local), UKU Mirror, and UKU Gold panels sold at BathingBrands.
Flush mount vs surface mount - when the UKU Frame is needed
The UKU Mirror and UKU Gold glass panels are designed to be recessed flush into the wall, with the glass face sitting level with the surrounding wall surface for the most seamless visual integration. In most drywall or timber-framed sauna room constructions, cutting the appropriate recess is straightforward. However, in rooms with tile-covered walls, thick stone cladding, solid masonry, or finished wall panels where cutting a precise recess is impractical or would damage the surface finish, flush mounting is not a workable option. The UKU Frame solves this: it is a trim frame that mounts directly onto the wall surface and accepts the UKU panel in a surface-mounted configuration. The result is a clean, finished presentation of the UKU panel above the wall surface rather than embedded in it. Compatible panels - UKU Glass, UKU Mirror, UKU Gold
The UKU Frame is specifically designed for the glass-panel UKU control variants: the UKU Local (glass panel), UKU Mirror (mirrored glass), and UKU Gold (gold-toned glass). It is not compatible with the UKU Local Black (matte plastic housing) or the UKU Local w/Wood Case (wood enclosure), which have different form factors and their own mounting configurations. If a surface-mounted installation is planned for any of the UKU glass-panel controls, add the UKU Frame to the order alongside the control. It is sold separately and not included with any UKU control panel at BathingBrands.

Why the HUUM UKU Frame
Surface mount without a wall recess
The UKU Mirror and UKU Gold panels default to flush/recessed installation - the panel sits in a precise cut-out in the wall. The UKU Frame eliminates the need to cut a recess: it mounts directly onto the wall surface and provides a finished frame for the panel to sit in above the wall plane. For tile walls, stone cladding, or any surface where cutting a recess would damage the finish or is structurally impractical, the UKU Frame is the correct solution.
Clean, finished presentation
The UKU Frame provides a defined, finished border around the UKU glass panel when surface-mounted - the panel sits within the frame rather than directly against the bare wall surface. This produces a more intentional, designed appearance for surface-mount installations compared to a panel simply attached to a flat wall without a framing element.
Compatible with UKU Glass, Mirror, and Gold
The UKU Frame is designed to accept the glass-panel UKU control variants specifically. All three compatible panels - UKU Glass (Local), UKU Mirror, and UKU Gold - share the same glass panel dimensions that the frame is sized for. If any of these three controls is being surface-mounted, the UKU Frame is the correct accessory to add to the order.
