Safe and Efficient Bariatric Lifting with Smart Technology
Bariatric transfers put heavy demands on both the patient and the care team. The Hoyer Calibre from Joerns Healthcare is an electric floor lift built for exactly that work, with a safe working load of 850 lbs for specialist care, acute care, and home settings.
An extra-wide, wrap-around push handle gives two caregivers room to steer together, and articulated twin front casters roll the lift over uneven floors and door thresholds without a struggle. Powered legs open and close at the touch of a button, so no one has to bend or force them apart around a wide chair or bed.
More About the Hoyer Calibre Bariatric Electric Patient Lift
Every Calibre comes with a low-profile NAWI Class III digital scale, so you can weigh the patient during the transfer instead of moving them twice. Swan neck style legs let the lift reach in close to the resident, and the large, open 6-point cradle leaves more room for the patient's comfort.
Behind the scenes, Hoyer Smart Monitor counts each lift, guards against overload, and reminds staff when service is due, helping the lift stay in good working order for years. If the hand control ever fails, backup buttons on the control box take over, and a mechanical emergency down device can lower the patient slowly even in a complete power failure.

FAQ
Can the Hoyer Calibre lift a patient from the floor?
Yes. Lock the rear casters before lifting from the floor. The 6-point cradle lowers to 25.5" and rises to 73".
Is the weigh scale included?
Yes. A low-profile NAWI Class III digital scale is built into the Calibre as standard.
Can more than one caregiver move the lift?
Yes. The extra-wide, wrap-around push handle has multiple grip points, so two caregivers can steer and push it together.
What happens if the power fails during a lift?
If the hand control fails, raise and lower buttons on the control box take over. In a complete electrical failure, a mechanical emergency down device lowers the patient slowly.
Will the Calibre fit through my doorways?
With the legs closed, the Calibre measures 33.2" across the outside of the legs, and its turning radius is 77". Measure your doorways and room before ordering, or call our team at
