120V operation - the most accessible electrical installation in the Harvia range
Every other heater in this lineup - the KIP series, The Wall series, the Spirit series - runs on 240V and requires a dedicated 240V circuit with a 20A to 40A breaker and 8 to 12 AWG wire installed by a licensed electrician before the heater can be used. The BC19 runs on 120V/1-phase. This single distinction opens the BC19 to installations that would otherwise require significant electrical work: a small sauna in a basement with an existing 120V outlet nearby, a prefab sauna cabin in a space without 240V access, or any location where adding a 240V circuit is impractical or cost-prohibitive. A 15A or 20A standard household circuit is sufficient. A licensed electrician is still required for the permanent wall connection, but the circuit infrastructure itself is already present in most homes.
Built-in top-mounted controls - no bending required
The Vega BC19 is a built-in-control heater - no external control unit is needed or compatible. The controls are placed at the top of the unit, which is the specific ergonomic decision that defines the Vega Compact range: the heater is designed to be mounted low on the sauna wall so that lower bench bathers receive steam directly, and the top-mounted controls ensure those controls remain at a comfortable operating height regardless of how low the heater is positioned. The symmetric shape of the BC19 means the controls can be configured on either the left or right side at installation - matching the preferred access side for any room layout. The control manages on/off and temperature directly from the heater body.
Single-screw wall mount - can be installed very low
The BC19 attaches to the wall mounting bracket with a single screw - the simplest installation of any Harvia heater. The wall bracket is included in the package. The heater is specifically designed to be mounted lower on the sauna wall than conventional heaters, which are typically installed at or above bench height. A lower installation position means the stone mass is closer to the floor and the radiant heat and loyly steam reach bathers seated on the lower bench directly rather than rising to the top of the room before dispersing. In a small single-person sauna where the lower bench may be the only bench, this is a meaningful practical difference from a conventionally positioned heater.

Choosing the right Harvia heater
Is the BC19 the right heater for your sauna?
The BC19 is the correct choice when three conditions are met: the sauna room is between 70 and 106 adjusted cubic feet, the supply is 120V/1-phase, and built-in manual controls without WiFi or remote capability are acceptable. If the room is larger, a 240V heater is required - the KIP45B (4.5kW, 100-211 cu ft, 240V/20A) is the next step up. If digital controls or remote preheat are wanted, the Virta or Spirit series with a Xenio or Fenix control is the appropriate choice. If the room is the right size but 240V is available, the KIP45B still makes sense as it provides more headroom for larger or less-insulated rooms in the same bracket. The BC19 is purpose-built for the smallest and simplest sauna installation in the Harvia range - it is the right heater when those conditions match, and not the right heater when they do not.
Only Harvia AC3000 stones (5-10 cm) should be used. Do not use stones that are too small or decorative stones - they can fracture at sauna temperatures. The heater must be permanently wired to the wall by a licensed electrician; it is not a plug-in appliance. Do not connect to a GFI/GFCI breaker.

2-year consumer warranty / 1-year commercial warranty
The Harvia Vega BC19 is covered by a 2-year limited warranty for consumer (residential) use and a 1-year limited warranty for commercial use from the date of purchase. The warranty covers defects in manufacturing and materials including heating elements and controls. Heating elements are serviceable and replacements are available. The warranty is void if: the heater is connected to a GFI/GFCI breaker, incorrect stones are used (must be Harvia AC3000, 5-10 cm), insufficient stones are installed, or the heater is improperly installed.
