MAJESTIC 440 HD PLUS Remote Controlled Heavy Duty Electric Wheelchair
The ComfyGO MAJESTIC 440 HD PLUS solves a problem that most heavy duty power wheelchairs cannot: it supports riders up to 440 lbs while still folding down to 29" x 16" x 26" and weighing only 61.5 lbs without its battery. Heavy duty and portable almost never overlap in this category. Bariatric-rated powerchairs are typically large, heavy, and effectively impossible to lift into a car trunk. The 440 HD PLUS is built on a reinforced aluminum alloy frame that carries a full 440 lb capacity, yet folds manually in seconds into a compact package that fits in most car trunks, SUVs, closets, and tight storage spaces. Dual 250W brushless DC motors deliver 500W of total power and 1.1 Nm of torque, enough to climb inclines up to 9 degrees and handle both indoor spaces and outdoor terrain. A 360-degree weather-resistant intelligent joystick provides precise control, and the included remote controller lets a caregiver or companion drive the chair from up to 30 feet away. Intelligent electromagnetic brakes provide secure, controlled stops. The standard 12AH lithium-ion battery is airline and cruise approved and delivers up to 12 miles of range, with an optional 26AH long-range battery available for up to 25 miles.

440 lb capacity in a chair that weighs just 61.5 lbs
The defining achievement of the 440 HD PLUS is its strength-to-weight ratio. It carries riders up to 440 lbs (199.5 kg), placing it firmly in bariatric territory, but the chair itself weighs only 61.5 lbs without the battery. The lithium-ion battery adds 8 lbs, bringing the total with the standard 12AH battery to approximately 68.5 lbs. For comparison, many bariatric-rated powerchairs weigh well over 150 lbs and cannot be lifted by one person at all. The 440 HD PLUS folds manually in seconds and can be loaded into a vehicle by a caregiver, making it genuinely usable for travel, appointments, errands, and family outings rather than being confined to the home. Note that the folded chair still has real weight, so some users may prefer a second person to assist with lifting into a vehicle.

Manual folding, remote controlled driving
This model is a manual folding chair: the frame folds and unfolds by hand in seconds, without motors or actuators to add weight and cost. The remote controller included with the 440 HD PLUS is used for driving, not folding. The remote lets a caregiver, companion, or family member maneuver the chair, adjust the speed setting, and sound the horn from a distance of up to 30 feet. This is genuinely useful for loading the chair into a vehicle, repositioning it in a room, or moving it out of the way when it is not in use, all without anyone having to sit in it or push it. The remote requires 2 AAA batteries, which are not included in the box.

Two battery options: airline approved or long range
The 440 HD PLUS gives you a real choice of battery based on how you plan to use the chair. The standard 12AH lithium-ion battery (288Wh, 24V) is airline and cruise approved, delivering up to 12 miles of range per charge. This is the right choice for anyone who flies or cruises, since it can legally travel with you. The optional 26AH long-range lithium-ion battery delivers up to 25 miles per charge, roughly double the range, but it is not airline or cruise approved. This is the right choice for someone who wants maximum daily range and does not travel by air or sea. Both batteries can be charged while installed in the chair or removed and charged independently. The chair ships with a 24V 2A charger. For faster charging of the 26AH battery, ComfyGO recommends the 24V 3A charger, which is sold separately.

Why the MAJESTIC 440 HD PLUS Stands Out
440 lb capacity in a chair that folds and weighs 61.5 lbs
Heavy duty and portable almost never overlap in this category. Bariatric-rated powerchairs are typically large, heavy, and impossible for one person to load into a vehicle. The 440 HD PLUS carries a full 440 lb capacity on a reinforced aluminum alloy frame, yet weighs only 61.5 lbs without its battery and folds manually from 38" x 26" x 36" down to 29" x 16" x 26".
Dual 250W brushless motors and 9-degree climbing
Two independent 250W brushless DC motors provide 500W of total power and 1.1 Nm of torque, giving the chair the strength to climb inclines up to 9 degrees and move confidently across pavement, grass, and light outdoor terrain.
Remote controlled driving from up to 30 feet
The included remote controller lets a caregiver, companion, or family member drive the chair from up to 30 feet away, adjust the speed setting, and sound the horn, all without anyone sitting in it. Folding on this model is manual; the remote drives, it does not fold.
Airline and cruise approved battery option
The standard 12AH lithium-ion battery (288Wh, 24V) is airline and cruise approved, delivering up to 12 miles per charge. The optional 26AH battery roughly doubles the range to 25 miles, though it is not airline or cruise approved.
360-degree intelligent joystick and electromagnetic brakes
The detachable joystick mounts on either armrest and carries the power button with indicator light, five speed settings, a horn, and a battery level display. Intelligent electromagnetic brakes engage automatically for secure, controlled stops.
Comfort, storage, and personalization
A 20.5" seating area gives room for longer periods of sitting, and the backrest adjusts from 18" to 24". The raisable backrest, raiseable armrests, and foldable footrest make transfers easier, and a storage bag under the seat is included.

Heavy duty and portable, the combination that is normally impossible
Why heavy duty and portable rarely go together, and how the 440 HD PLUS does both
Power mobility devices in the heavy duty category are traditionally very large and not very portable. A bariatric-rated chair typically means a heavy steel frame, a chair weighing well over 150 lbs, and no realistic way to load it into a car without a lift or ramp. That has historically forced buyers into a choice: either the weight capacity they need, or the portability they want, but not both. The MAJESTIC 440 HD PLUS is built specifically to close that gap. Its reinforced aluminum alloy frame carries the full 440 lb capacity, while the chair itself weighs only 61.5 lbs without its battery and folds by hand from 38" x 26" x 36" down to just 29" x 16" x 26". The result is a heavy duty chair that can genuinely travel: into a car trunk, into an SUV, onto a cruise ship, or onto a plane with the airline approved 12AH battery.

FAQ
Can I turn my wheelchair on or off with the remote control?+
No. The wheelchair's power must be turned on before the remote control is turned on. This allows the controller to pair with the chair.
Does my wheelchair arrive fully assembled?+
Your wheelchair will arrive almost fully assembled. When it arrives, you will need to attach the remaining parts, including inserting the joystick controller into the armrest.
A signature is required on delivery.
Can I bring my wheelchair on a plane or cruise ship?+
Yes, with the standard 12AH battery. The 12AH (288Wh) lithium-ion battery is travel approved by most major airlines and cruise lines.
The optional 26AH long-range battery is NOT airline or cruise approved. If you plan to fly or cruise with your chair, choose the 12AH battery.
Before travelling by airline or cruise, please contact the airline or cruise line directly to confirm their current travel battery regulations.
Is it feasible for my wheelchair to fold up on its own while I'm seated in it?+
No. The MAJESTIC 440 HD PLUS is a manual folding wheelchair. It has no automatic folding mechanism, so it cannot fold on its own while you are seated in it.
The chair folds and unfolds by hand in seconds, going from 38" x 26" x 36" unfolded down to 29" x 16" x 26" folded. The included remote control is used to drive the chair, adjust the speed, and sound the horn. It does not perform the folding action.
I've run out of battery. Can I push my chair?+
Yes. The wheelchair can operate like a manual wheelchair. Turn off the power and disengage both motors by pulling the levers on each motor to unlock them. This sets the wheelchair to freewheel mode so it can be pushed.
Remember to re-engage both motor levers before using the chair under power again.
Does my remote control come paired with my chair?+
Yes. The remote control comes paired with your chair. If your remote loses its pairing, follow the pairing steps in your owner's manual to reconnect it.
Note: the remote requires 2 AAA batteries, which are not included in the box.
Is there a way to stop the beeping noise my wheelchair makes when I go in reverse?+
Yes. To remove the beeping noise:
- Press the (+) key on the controller until you reach the top speed.
- Hold the button down until you see the amber light in the middle of the display.
- Quickly press the horn button. The beeping will stop.
Repeat these same steps if you want the beeping sound turned back on.
Does the armrest raise?+
Yes. Both armrests can raise, to allow an easier transfer in and out of the chair, or to make it easier to pull your chair closer to a table.
How do I charge the battery?+
The lithium-ion battery can be charged through the joystick controller or directly on the battery itself. It can be charged while installed in the wheelchair, or removed and charged independently.
Charging an empty battery takes approximately 6 to 8 hours, and less time if the battery is only partially discharged. When the battery is fully charged, unplug the charger from the battery and then unplug it from the power outlet.
The chair ships with a 24V 2A charger. For faster charging of the optional 26AH long-range battery, ComfyGO recommends the 24V 3A charger, which is sold separately.
Can I place my controller on either side of the wheelchair?+
Yes. The controller is set up on the right side of the wheelchair by default, but it can be easily moved to the left side.
Can I use my wheelchair on dirt and grass?+
Yes. The 440 HD PLUS can traverse low grass and compacted dirt with ease. With its dual 250W brushless motors and solid 12" rear and 8" front tires, it handles pavement, ramps, brick paths, and light outdoor terrain, and can climb inclines up to 9 degrees.
Where can I find the serial number of my wheelchair?+
The serial number can be found in three places: on the frame near the footrest, in the product manual, and on the box the wheelchair was shipped in.
Does my wheelchair come with a warranty?+
Yes. The MAJESTIC 440 HD PLUS comes with a standard 3-year frame warranty, 1-year motor warranty, 1-year battery warranty, and 1-year electronic parts warranty.
Optional extended coverage is available through ComfyGO Care (up to 2 years) and ComfyGO Care+ (up to 3 years), covering mechanical or electrical failures from normal wear and tear, with the option to add battery coverage and Accidental Damage Handling. Both plans must be purchased within 90 days of delivery.
