The 10.6kW is the top output in the HIVE Mini series, extending the beehive open-cage design into the largest room range the HIVE Mini body can serve. It shares the same 18.11" (460mm) diameter cage, the same 330-lb stone capacity, and the same floor-standing installation as the HIVE Mini 6 and 9 - what changes is the output level, the electrical specification, and the inclusion of the UKU Extension Box required at this output level.
10.6kW - the top of the HIVE Mini series
The HIVE Mini series runs from 6kW to 10.6kW across three output levels in the same physical body. The 6kW (177-318 cu ft) runs on a single 30A / 10 AWG circuit. The 9kW (318-530 cu ft) and 10.6kW (353-706 cu ft) both run on a single 50A / 8 AWG circuit - the electrical specification is identical between these two models. The distinction between the 9 and 10.6 is purely room size and output headroom: the 10.6kW extends coverage to 706 cubic feet and provides greater reserve capacity for rooms with cold surfaces - glass walls, tile floors, natural stone or masonry panels - that increase the effective thermal load above the raw cubic footage. For rooms between 353 and 530 cu ft that fall in the overlap zone with the 9kW, rooms with challenging cold surfaces are better served by the 10.6; well-insulated standard wood-walled rooms can be adequately served by either. For rooms from 531 to 706 cu ft, the 10.6kW is the correct and only HIVE Mini choice.
353-706 cu ft - the largest room range in the HIVE Mini series
At 706 cubic feet, the HIVE Mini 10.6kW covers sauna rooms approaching the size at which the full HIVE series (12kW+) begins. The slight overlap between the HIVE Mini 10.6's ceiling and the full HIVE 12's floor (424-636 cu ft) means that rooms in the 531-636 cu ft range can be served by either the HIVE Mini 10.6 or the full HIVE 12. The key difference between these two options is stone mass: the HIVE Mini 10.6 carries 330 lbs; the full HIVE 12 carries 528 lbs. For this overlap zone, the HIVE Mini 10.6 is the appropriate choice for rooms with standard insulation and wood surfaces, operating on a single 50A circuit without dual-circuit wiring. The full HIVE 12 is the appropriate choice when maximum stone mass and the longest possible sustained session performance are the priorities, at the cost of dual 30A circuits and a UKU Extension Box.

UKU Extension Box included
The 10.6kW output level requires the UKU Extension Box to manage the heater load through the UKU control system. This extension box is included in the package - no separate purchase needed. The WDX in the SKU suffix confirms the wood case control (W) and extension box (X) are both included alongside the heater and stones.
Single 50A / 8 AWG - simpler than the full HIVE 12
The HIVE Mini 10.6 requires a single 50A / 8 AWG circuit - the same as the HIVE Mini 9. This is meaningfully simpler than the full HIVE 12's dual 30A / 10 AWG dual-circuit installation. For rooms up to 706 cu ft where single-circuit wiring is preferred and 330 lbs of stone mass is sufficient, the HIVE Mini 10.6 avoids the complexity of a dual-circuit installation.
UKU WiFi - remote preheat for a large room
A 353-706 cu ft sauna room at 10.6kW takes 40-60 minutes to reach bathing temperature. Upgrading to UKU WiFi at checkout adds HUUM app control on iOS and Android - start the preheat from anywhere and arrive to a ready sauna. The UKU Extension Box is already included; no additional hardware is needed for the WiFi upgrade.
Air tunnel pre-installed - 25% faster heat-up
The air tunnel is standard in all current HIVE Mini models. For a 10.6kW heater covering rooms up to 706 cu ft, the 25% heat-up time reduction from the air tunnel is especially valuable - large rooms take longer to heat and the time saving from the air tunnel is proportionally greater. Element life is also extended by the improved airflow the tunnel provides.

HIVE Mini 10.6kW (353-706 cu ft, single 50A / 8 AWG, 330 lbs, ext box included): the correct choice for rooms from 531-706 cu ft on a single circuit, or for rooms 353-530 cu ft with cold surfaces requiring more output. Full HIVE 12kW (424-636 cu ft, dual 30A / 10 AWG, 528 lbs, ext box required): the correct choice when maximum stone mass (528 lbs vs 330 lbs) and the longest sustained session performance are priorities, at the cost of dual-circuit electrical installation. The HUUM HIVE Mini 10.6STU Package is covered by HUUM's 5-year limited warranty from the date of purchase. The warranty covers defects in manufacturing and materials under normal use conditions. Heating elements are excluded from the 5-year coverage and carry their own separate warranty period. The warranty does not cover damage caused by improper installation, use of incorrect or non-approved stones, operating the heater without the required stone load, or failure to follow HUUM's installation and operating guidelines. A licensed electrician is required for all electrical connections. Do not connect to a GFI/GFCI breaker. Proof of purchase from an authorized HUUM dealer is required. We have a 30-day return policy, which means you have 30 days after receiving your item to request a return.
