Four session modes - traditional, steam, herbal, and fragrance sauna
The HL90SA's integrated steamer operates independently from the sauna heater, which is what enables the four distinct session modes. Traditional sauna mode runs the heater only and water is poured manually on the stones. Steam sauna mode runs both the heater and steamer simultaneously - the Combi control regulates temperature and humidity independently, so precise combinations from fully dry to high-humidity steam are achievable without manual water pouring during the session. Herbal sauna mode uses the stainless steel grate holder for aromatic herb bags, which release their fragrance gradually as rising heat passes through them. Automatic filling connects the reservoir to a cold water supply line and maintains reservoir level automatically throughout the session. Integrated steamer - 5-litre reservoir
The built-in steamer produces controlled, continuous humidity. The 5-litre reservoir fills automatically from a connected water line, or manually by pour. Humidity is regulated independently from temperature by the Combi control - any combination from fully dry to high-humidity steam is achievable and held automatically.
Fragrance without element contact
The dedicated soapstone cup heats essential oil liquids gradually through rising heat - oils never contact the stones or elements. The stainless steel herb bag grate sits on the heater top and releases aromatic herb fragrance passively. Both fragrance systems are integrated into the heater design, not accessories to add separately.
Stone space separated - front hatch service
Stone compartment surrounds the element assembly without direct contact. Elements run cooler, last longer, and are protected from water contact. The entire element module pulls out through the front maintenance hatch without touching the stones - the same front-access serviceability as the standard Virta HL60E.
Two 30A breakers - standard Combi requirement
240V/1-phase on two standard 2-pole 30A breakers with 10 AWG wire. The dual-circuit requirement accommodates the heater and steamer operating simultaneously. Both circuits must be standard 2-pole breakers - no GFI/GFCI. A licensed electrician is required for all connections and the control power unit installation.

Virta Combi HL90SA vs HL110SA - room size is the deciding factor
Both the HL90SA and HL110SA share the same full Combi feature set: four session modes, 5-litre integrated steamer, separated stone space, front maintenance hatch, soapstone fragrance cup, herb bag grate, automatic or manual water filling, and identical control compatibility. The difference is output, room coverage, and stone requirement. HL90SA: 9kW, 177-494 cu ft, 3 boxes AC3020 (100 lbs), two 30A breakers. HL110SA: 10.5kW, 177-635 cu ft, 4 boxes AC3020 (150 lbs), two 30A breakers. If the adjusted room volume is confirmed under 494 cubic feet, the HL90SA is the correct and more economical choice. If the room exceeds 494 cu ft, only the HL110SA covers it.
Two standard 2-pole 30A breakers and 10 AWG wire are required. Do not connect to GFI/GFCI breakers. Only Harvia AC3020 stones (10-15 cm) are to be used - 3 boxes required, sold separately. Warranty
2-year consumer warranty / 1-year commercial warranty
The Harvia Virta Combi HL90SA is covered by a 2-year limited warranty for consumer (residential) use and a 1-year limited warranty for commercial use from the date of purchase. The warranty covers the heater, steamer, and all included components including heating elements, contactors, and the water reservoir against defects in manufacturing and materials. Heating elements are covered on first use only and are thereafter considered consumable parts. The warranty is void if: the heater is connected to GFI/GFCI breakers, incorrect or insufficient stones are used (must be Harvia AC3020, 10-15 cm, 3 boxes minimum), essential oils are poured directly on stones or elements (use the soapstone fragrance cup only), or the heater is improperly installed.
