6kW for medium to large home sauna rooms
The step from 4.5kW to 6kW in the KIP range is not just a power increase - it is a room-size threshold. The KIP45B is correctly sized for compact home saunas up to 211 cubic feet: a 2-person cabin, a small sauna room off the bathroom, or a narrow prefabricated sauna. The KIP60B is the right choice for rooms from 170 to 300 cubic feet, covering the range from a standard 3-person home sauna up to a larger 4-person room or a sauna with high ceilings and cold surfaces such as tile or glass that require adjusted cubic foot calculations. The 6kW output on a 30A breaker ensures the room reaches temperature efficiently and maintains it without the heater running continuously at full load. For rooms near the top of the range or with significant cold surface adjustment, the KIP60B provides the headroom that the 4.5kW model cannot.
Built-in controls - two dials, complete operation
The KIP60B uses the same built-in control system as the entire KIP range: two rotary dials at the base of the heater. The left dial is the thermostat, setting the target temperature. The right dial controls the timer: it can start the heater immediately for any duration up to 60 minutes, or it can be set for a delayed start up to 8 hours in advance so the sauna is at temperature before the session begins. The heater shuts off automatically after the timer cycle completes. The control panel is mounted at the base of the heater by default facing the front, and it can be repositioned to face the right side - useful for corner installations where front-facing access is limited. No separate control unit is needed or compatible with this heater.
Dual-wall stainless steel - mounts directly to wood
The outer casing of the KIP60B is a dual-wall stainless steel construction with an air gap between the inner heating chamber and the outer surface. This keeps the exterior cool to the touch during operation and is the reason the heater can be mounted directly onto a wooden sauna wall without a protective backing panel behind it. The polished stainless steel finish is corrosion-resistant and designed for the permanent moisture and heat environment of a sauna interior. A protective stone grill is fitted over the open stone cavity, providing a safety barrier around the heated stones and preventing stones from falling from the heater during use.
Direct rock-to-element contact - even heat, satisfying loyly
Stones in the KIP60B sit in direct contact with the heating elements throughout the cavity. Heat transfers directly from the elements to the stone mass with no intermediate air gap, producing even stone temperatures across the full cavity and fast heat-up to operating temperature for the room size. When water is poured over the stones for loyly steam, the full contact area means immediate, consistent steam production from the first ladle. One box of Harvia AC3000 stones (5-10 cm) is included in this package and meets the stone requirement for the KIP60B's 44-lb stone capacity.

ℹ️ The KIP60B has no external control compatibility. The built-in dial controls are the only control system for this heater. It cannot be connected to or operated by a Xenio, Fenix, or any other external sauna control unit. If remote control, app connectivity, or digital temperature management are required, the Harvia Virta series with a Xenio or Fenix control is the appropriate alternative.

8-hour delay start
The right dial can be set for a delayed start up to 8 hours in advance. Program the heater before leaving home and the sauna will be at temperature when the session is planned. The heater shuts off automatically after 60 minutes of operation for safety.
Dual-wall - mounts to wood without a heat shield
The air gap between the inner heating chamber and the outer stainless steel surface keeps the exterior cool to the touch during operation. The KIP60B can be mounted directly on a wood sauna wall without requiring a protective back panel or heat shield, simplifying installation in any standard sauna room.
UL Listed - 30A installation

Choosing the right KIP
KIP45B or KIP60B - which size is right?
The KIP45B (4.5kW) is sized for rooms up to 211 cubic feet: compact 2-person home saunas, small prefabricated sauna cabins, and standard home sauna rooms with average ceiling heights and minimal cold surfaces. The KIP60B (6kW) is the right step up for rooms from 170 to 300 cubic feet - standard 3 to 4-person rooms, rooms with higher ceilings, or rooms where tile floors, glass panels, or concrete walls increase the adjusted room volume beyond what the KIP45B can effectively serve. Both are the same physical unit with the same dimensions and the same control system. The difference is power output and room coverage.
A standard 2-pole 30A breaker and 10 AWG wire are required for the KIP60B - do not connect to a GFI or GFCI breaker, as this will cause nuisance tripping. Only Harvia AC3000 stones (5-10 cm) should be used; other stone types or insufficient stone quantity will void the warranty. Only Harvia essential oils, diluted properly in water, may be added to loyly water - do not pour oils directly on the stones or elements.

2-year consumer warranty / 1-year commercial warranty
The Harvia KIP60B is covered by a 2-year limited warranty for consumer (residential) use and a 1-year limited warranty for commercial use from the date of purchase. The warranty covers defects in manufacturing and materials including heating elements, thermostat, and all internal components. Heating elements are serviceable and replacements are available. The warranty is void if: the heater is connected to a GFI/GFCI breaker (standard 2-pole breaker required), incorrect or insufficient stones are used (must be Harvia AC3000, 5-10 cm), essential oils are poured directly on stones or elements, or the heater is improperly installed.
