The Harvia KIP45W Package is the complete stainless steel version of the KIP 4.5kW heater - the same proven KIP design in polished stainless rather than black steel, bundled with a Xenio WiFi control and one box of Harvia AC3000 sauna stones. This is the key distinction from the KIP45B PKG: the KIP45B uses built-in dial controls with no external unit required, while the KIP45W requires an external Xenio control and pairs with it to deliver full digital temperature management, scheduling, and remote preheat via the MyHarvia app. The stainless steel finish suits light cedar, blonde wood, and natural material sauna interiors where the reflective polished surface complements the room rather than contrasting with it. In every technical specification - output, dimensions, stone capacity, room coverage, safety distances, and electrical requirements - the KIP45W and KIP45B are identical.

The KIP45B PKG has built-in dial controls: temperature and timer set directly on the heater body, no additional hardware, simple and self-contained. The KIP45W PKG includes an external Xenio WiFi control panel that installs on the wall and connects to the heater via a wiring harness. This changes what the heater can do: the Xenio WiFi gives the KIP45W full digital temperature control with precise degree-by-degree adjustment, a programmable timer and delay schedule, the MyHarvia app for remote preheat and monitoring from a smartphone anywhere, and Google Home and Amazon Alexa compatibility for voice-activated sauna control. The tradeoff is slightly more installation work - the control panel needs its own wall position and wiring connection - but the result is a significantly more capable sauna control experience than the dial-only KIP45B can provide.
Polished stainless steel - the finish for light wood interiors
The W in KIP45W denotes the polished stainless steel exterior. Where the KIP45B black steel finish recedes against dark cedar and contemporary material palettes, the stainless finish of the KIP45W reflects light and reads as a warm, functional element in rooms with light spruce, blonde cedar, or natural aspen bench surfaces. It is not a neutral finish choice - it is a deliberate material pairing decision. Both finishes are equally durable. Both use the same dual-wall construction that keeps the exterior cool to the touch and allows direct mounting on a wooden sauna wall without a protective backing panel. The choice between W and B is purely aesthetic.
Dual-wall construction - exterior cool, mounts to wood directly
The KIP45W uses the same dual-wall stainless steel construction as the entire KIP series. An air gap between the inner heating chamber and the outer polished surface keeps the exterior cool to the touch during operation - the reason the heater can be mounted directly on a wooden sauna wall without any protective heat shield behind it. The large stone cavity holds 44 lbs of AC3000 stones in direct contact with the heating elements, producing efficient heat-up and the sharp, satisfying steam of direct rock-to-element contact. A protective stone guard is included. All connections to the external Xenio control are made through the front of the heater.

KIP45W vs KIP45B - which is right?
KIP45W PKG vs KIP45B PKG - same heater, different control and finish
Both packages deliver 4.5kW on a 240V/20A circuit, cover 100-210 cu ft, use dual-wall construction, and include stones. The KIP45B PKG is black steel with built-in dial controls - simpler installation, no WiFi, no app, no external unit needed. The KIP45W PKG is polished stainless steel with an external Xenio WiFi control - slightly more installation work, full digital temperature control, remote preheat, and app and smart home connectivity. The KIP45B is the right choice when simplicity is the priority. The KIP45W is the right choice when stainless steel aesthetics and digital control capability matter.
A standard 2-pole 20A breaker and 10 AWG wire are required for both. Do not connect to a GFI or GFCI breaker. Only Harvia AC3000 stones (5-10 cm) should be used. The Xenio WiFi control unit must be installed in a dry area; the heater mounts on the wall inside the sauna. Both connect via the wiring harness included with the control.

Warranty
2-year consumer warranty / 1-year commercial warranty
The Harvia KIP45W is covered by a 2-year limited warranty for consumer (residential) use and a 1-year limited warranty for commercial use from the date of purchase. The warranty covers the heater and all included components - heating elements, Xenio WiFi control, and stones - against defects in manufacturing and materials. Heating elements are covered on first use only and are thereafter considered consumable parts. The warranty is void if: the heater is connected to a GFI/GFCI breaker (standard 2-pole required), incorrect or insufficient stones are used (must be Harvia AC3000, 5-10 cm), essential oils are poured directly on stones or elements, or the heater is improperly installed.
