Grate-like outer shell, two ways to throw water
The Cilindro's signature feature is the grated outer shell that exposes the entire stone pillar to the room. Pour water onto the sides of the heater and you get soft, gentle steam as the stones release moisture gradually through the grate. Pour water straight down onto the top of the stone pillar and you get sharp, intense löyly as the water hits the hottest stones directly above the heating elements. Same heater, two completely different sauna experiences, decided by the bather in the moment. No other Harvia heater offers this level of steam customization from a single design.

Where the Spirit series uses an open cage with stones around the perimeter, the Cilindro is built as a vertical pillar with stones surrounding stainless steel heating elements that run straight down the center. This direct rock-to-heating-element contact produces faster, more efficient heat transfer to the stones, and the 200-lb stone capacity (5 boxes of 5-10 cm stones, sold separately) means the stones hold heat far longer between water pours. The taller pillar form also distributes heat vertically through the room rather than radiating from a single point, particularly effective in saunas with glass surfaces where heat demand is higher.
Built-in controls, no separate control unit needed
Unlike the Spirit series which requires a separate Xenio or Fenix control unit, the Cilindro PC80 has time and temperature controls built directly into the front of the heater itself. Set your session time and target temperature with the integrated knobs and the heater handles the rest. This means there is no separate wiring run to an external control box, no extra wall-mounted display, no additional component to install or fail. The trade-off is that the PC80 does not offer WiFi or app control; if remote operation matters more than the simpler installation, the Spirit series with an external Xenio or Fenix control is the alternative to consider.
Side wall or corner install, stainless steel construction
The PC80 is designed to install against a side wall or in a corner, with safety clearances printed on every spec sheet. The entire housing is stainless steel rather than the powder-coated steel of the Spirit series, and the heating elements themselves are stainless steel for long service life in the high-humidity sauna environment. Designed, engineered, and manufactured by Harvia in Finland, where Harvia has been making sauna heaters since 1950.

Harvia has been making sauna heaters in Finland since 1950. Cilindro PC80 vs Spirit SP80E
Pillar with built-in controls, or wall-mount with WiFi?
The Cilindro PC80 and Spirit SP80E both deliver 8kW for rooms in the 141 to 431 cubic foot range, but they're built around different priorities. The Cilindro PC80 is a floor-standing pillar with 200 lbs of stones, built-in time and temperature controls, and the grate-like shell that lets each bather customize the steam. No external control unit, no WiFi, just direct hands-on operation. The Spirit SP80E is a wall-mounted open-cage heater with 110 lbs of stones and a separate Xenio CX45 or Fenix FX45 WiFi control with MyHarvia app, Google Home, and Alexa.
Choose the Cilindro PC80 if you want a single-component install, the richer steam character of a 200-lb stone pillar, and don't need remote operation. Choose the Spirit SP80E if WiFi remote preheat matters and you prefer wall-mounted heaters that keep floor space clear.

Warranty
1-year consumer warranty / 1-year commercial warranty
The Harvia Cilindro PC80 is covered by a 1-year limited warranty for consumer (residential) use and a 1-year limited warranty for commercial use from the date of purchase. The warranty covers the heater against defects in manufacturing and materials. Heating elements are excluded from warranty coverage, this is consistent with Harvia's industry-wide policy on consumable heating elements. The warranty is void if: incorrect stones are used (must be 5 to 10 cm rounded stones), water is poured directly onto heating elements rather than onto stones, the heater is improperly installed, or operated outside its rated electrical specifications. Proof of purchase from an authorized Harvia dealer is required for any warranty claim. We are an authorized Harvia dealer.
